Clinical Supervision
A space to think, reflect, and grow
Good supervision is about more than finding answers.
It is an opportunity to step back from the immediacy of therapeutic work, make sense of what’s happening and develop a wider, deeper understanding - of your clients, of the therapeutic process, and of yourself as a therapist.
My role is not to help you become a therapist who works like me. It is to help you develop confidence in your own therapeutic thinking and strengthen your authentic professional identity.
My approach
My supervisory style reflects the way I work as a therapist: collaborative, warm, thoughtful, and grounded in curiosity.
I don’t believe supervision is about having all the answers or telling you how I would work with your clients. Instead, I aim to create a relationship where you feel supported enough to be honest, challenged enough to continue developing, and safe enough to explore uncertainty, blind spots, and difficult emotional responses without fear of judgement.
Together we can reflect on:
client work and formulation
ethical decision-making
therapeutic relationship and process
transference and countertransference
parallel processes
risk and safeguarding
professional identity and confidence
self-care and practitioner wellbeing
areas where you may feel stuck or uncertain
“Supervision invites us to step back from the question, ‘What’s happening for the client?’ and become curious about, ‘What’s happening between my client and me?’ It is often within that wider perspective that new understanding emerges.”
Sometimes talking is enough. At other times, I may invite us to think creatively to help uncover new understanding.

My experience
I am a BACP Accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with over ten years’ experience in private practice and more than fourteen years working across mental health services.
My background includes private practice, higher education, secondary schools, employee assistance programs, charities, and community mental health.
I hold a Psychology degree and a Masters degree in Therapeutic Counselling, and I have experience delivering workshops, groups, and university teaching alongside my clinical practice.

My therapeutic approach
I work integratively, drawing primarily on psychodynamic, humanistic, and CBT approaches.
I value the richness that different modalities can bring and am open to working with therapists from other theoretical backgrounds where a broader or different perspective may enrich our exploration together.
My supervision is grounded in the belief that understanding often comes before intervention, and that growth happens through curiosity, reflection, and collaboration.
