I’m Jo, and I’m glad you’re here.
I'm an accredited counsellor & psychotherapist based in Chislehurst, working with adults both in person and online. I believe therapy offers the opportunity to better understand ourselves, navigate life's challenges and create meaningful, lasting change.
My approach is warm, collaborative and tailored to the individual sitting in front of me. No two people are the same, so no two therapeutic journeys are either.
A little about me
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in hospitality, hotel management and corporate event management. Those roles taught me the importance of building relationships, communicating well, and helping people feel seen and supported. Over time, my curiosity about people and what shapes us grew into something deeper, leading me towards a career where I could help people understand themselves more deeply and find a kinder way of relating to themselves.
Away from work, I enjoy travelling, cooking, gardening and spending time with my family. Walking my much-loved border terrier is one of my daily joys. Those quieter moments help keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of slowing down, staying connected and finding balance in everyday life.
Why I do this work
I know that reaching out for therapy can feel daunting. I also know, both personally and professionally, how powerful it can be to have a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood and accepted.
For me, therapy is about developing a deeper understanding of yourself: recognising the experiences that have shaped you, making sense of your thoughts and emotions, and discovering new ways of relating to yourself and others.
My role is to offer curiosity, compassion and professional support as we explore those experiences together, helping you feel more secure, more confident and more authentically yourself.
If you're considering therapy and would like to find out whether we're a good fit, I'd love to hear from you.

Beyond the therapy room
I'm passionate about making psychology and therapy more accessible beyond the consulting room. Alongside my writing, I also co-hosted the podcast Therapists: Between Sessions, where we explored the human side of therapy and the conversations that happen between sessions.
Although we're not currently recording new episodes, I hope you'll still find these conversations thoughtful, honest and helpful.
