Therapy in Chislehurst & Online

Beginning therapy can feel like a big step. You might be wondering whether you'll know what to say, whether your problems are "big enough", or whether therapy is really for you.

You don't need to have everything figured out before you begin. Therapy starts wherever you are today.

Together, we'll create a space where you can slow down, explore what's happening in your life, understand yourself more deeply, and work towards meaningful, lasting change.

Whether we meet in person in Chislehurst or online, my approach is warm, collaborative and tailored to you as an individual.

What therapy with me is like

No two people are the same, so no two therapeutic journeys are either.

I work integratively, which simply means I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on what feels most helpful for you. Rather than expecting you to fit into one particular model, I adapt my approach to fit your experiences, your needs and your goals.

Much of my training has focused on trauma and attachment, and how our early experiences shape the ways we think, feel and relate to ourselves and others. Together, we'll gently explore the patterns that may no longer be serving you, helping you understand where they came from and how you might begin responding differently.

Above all, therapy with me is collaborative. I'll offer curiosity, compassion and professional knowledge, while creating a space where you can feel heard, understood and supported as we work together towards lasting change.

Questions people often ask…

What if I don't know what to say?

That's completely okay. Therapy doesn't require you to arrive with a plan. We simply begin with whatever feels important that day.

Will you tell me what to do?

Rather than giving advice, I'll help you understand yourself more deeply so you can make decisions that feel right for you.

How many sessions will I need?

Everyone is different. Some people come for short-term support, while others value longer-term therapy. We'll review things together as we go.

Do I have to talk about my childhood?

Only if it's helpful. Sometimes our past helps us understand the present, but therapy is always guided by what feels relevant to you.

Testimonials

“Jo was an important sounding board for me, I felt freedom to really express myself and open myself up in a way that perhaps I wouldn't have been brave to do with others. Not only did this help me to explore some of my emotions in a way that I hadn't done before, but it also taught me that actually my feelings weren't anything to be embarrassed of and has led me to being more open with those closest to me.”

“Thanks to Jo’s support, my anxiety is no longer something that controls me. When it does come up, I now have the tools to manage it and move through it much more quickly. The positivity and calm Jo brings into each session helped me find strength on even my hardest days, and her presence has been something I’ve deeply appreciated throughout this journey.”
